It's Johnny Rotten's birthday!

1. Johnny Lydon, the lead singer of the Sex Pistols, doesn't give interviews using language clean enough for schoolkids.
2. Fronting a punk band in the 70's, Johnny used the name "Johnny Rotten" on stage.
3. Sid Vicious, the bassist, often caused fans to spit on him during shows. *diagram #3*

A DIY Charity- Food Not Bombs

1. Feeding the homeless, Food Not Bombs has an ongoing mission of direct community service.
2. My husband, rocking for his community, has played several staged benefits for this group in Connecticut. 
3. Organized by regular folks, Food Not Bombs meals are usually donated vegan foodstuffs.
4. The DIY (do it yourself) ethos of the organization presents people a home-grown feeling.

1. Showing up everywhere on the charts today, rap started as an underground urban music genre, much like punk.
2. A punk band, in fact, was the first to bring a single including a rap bridge to the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 
3. Blondie, crossing the punk/R&B border, featured Debby Harry rapping the verses of the song.
